01 Oct Brilliant Baking!
Year 5 had a great time making bread last week for their D.T. project. The children carefully weighed and measured out the ingredients before following the instructions step by step. There were some interesting extra ingredients added and some very original designs! Everyone had a great time making and eating the bread. Hopefully, some made it home and the parents got to sample a bit too!
The pupils reflected on their baked goods and shared what they liked or would change in future:
“I learnt that making bread is fun because you get to learn something new and you also get to find out new recipes and make them another time. I made an olive plait and it was delicious.” Maya, 5HN
“I used colourful sprinkles. I thought the bread would be colourful like a rainbow with a few white patches but instead all the greeny-blue sprinkles disappeared. I also ended up with orange gloopy stuff underneath. Next time, I might add something different.” Sophia, 5HN
“I liked bread making because it got our brains working. It’s giving more creativity, it makes you test your imagination and think about what to add in the future. I liked the taste of my bacon bread.” Jamal, 5HN
