10 Oct Exploring life in WW2
On Tuesday 7th October, the Year 6 cohort went on a fantastic trip to RAF Hendon to enhance their learning of World War 2, their current history topic. The children took part in an interactive workshop where they were able to immerse themselves into the lives of those living during Word War 2 and even got to experience an Air Raid siren and a public shelter!
Some of the Year 6 pupils shared what they had enjoyed about the trip: “It was so cool to see the different planes that were flown. I didn’t realise they would be so big and that there were that many types.”
“It was fun when we did the air raid siren and went into the shelter all together as a class.”
“I enjoyed dressing up in the uniform and having pictures taken with my friends.”
The children thoroughly enjoyed the trip and seeing all the aircrafts from this fascinating period of history. The children’s behaviour was impeccable and this was commented on by members of the public at the museum. Well done, Year 6!
