24 Nov Celebrating Biodiversity at Kew
Year 4 have had a fascinating time visiting Kew Gardens to enrich their learning about rainforests. The children visited the Palm House and in a wonderful workshop got to smell and explore the different plants that grow in the rainforest.
As they looked at the wide variety of plants and fruits the children got to learn about how the different plants are useful to the people who live in the rainforest. The children were able to show off all they had learned through studying the book ‘ The Great Kapok Tree’ – the professionals at Kew were really impressed with their knowledge!
As well as their interesting workshop, Year 4 really enjoyed visiting the Children’s Garden at Kew – although some classes were able to enjoy it in better weather than others! The classes who went in the rain showed real resilience and cheerfulness, despite the weather – well done Year 4!
