A Dinosaur Discovery in Reception!

There’s been a real buzz in Reception over the past few weeks after a mysterious egg appeared in our playground! The children were full of excitement and curiosity as they shared their ideas about what it could be. Could it be a dragon’s egg? A bird’s? Or maybe even… a dinosaur’s?

The children loved using mark making to record their ideas and predictions. We had lots of wonderful discussions, linked to our history topic learning as we waited to see what might happen next. While we waited for the egg to hatch, the children created some brilliant dinosaur artwork and even began using their phonics to design and label their own dinosaurs.

To everyone’s amazement, the dinosaur even paid us a visit! The children couldn’t believe their eyes and were full of questions and excitement.

It’s been such a lovely topic full of imagination, creativity and wonder. Reception have really enjoyed exploring, investigating and bringing their ideas to life!
