16 Jul Annie
After six weeks of daily rehearsals it is performance week for our Year 6 classes! It has been such a pleasure to see the children develop their performing talents – over the past half term many of them have discovered gifts that they didn’t know they had. Each day this week a class is enjoying showcasing ‘Annie’ to children in the school during the morning dress rehearsal before performing to the wider community in an evening performance.
The show is an absolute joy to watch with high energy ensemble pieces and gripping individual performances: from the adorable Sandy the dog to the formidable Miss Hannigan; from the heartbreaking orphans to the kind and serious Mr Warbucks; from the wily Rooster and his wife to the stately President Roosevelt, it is a real treat to watch.
The enjoyment and passion of the children radiates from the stage in each performance and we are so thankful to everyone who has helped the show to come together. Thank you to our Year 6 teachers, Ms McCulluch for the back drop, our make up team, the musicians, the light and sound crew, the site team for all work and of course to Sophie and Mr McMillan who have coached, choroegraphed and challenged the children to put on the most amazing show!
