Netball Wins!

On Friday, CtS took 2 teams from Year 6 to a netball tournament at Ada Lovelace School. The teams were well prepared: as well as developing their skills in PE lessons, everyone had attended a practice the day before and had also worked hard to improve their shooting at lunchtimes that week. Everyone was feeling confident. The weather forecast wasn’t looking too hopeful but thankfully it didn’t rain and we even saw the sun!

Team A had three matches. They started strong with a 3-0 win against St Raphael’s A and then worked hard to secure victory over Costons A. Their final match was against a strong St Gregory’s side but CtS emerged the final winners with some excellent shooting from the edge of the circle. Team A returned to school with gold medals and a ticket to the Borough Finals next half term!

Team B played four matches. Their first match against St Gregory’s B team was the hardest and they lost 2-0. With their second match immediately after the first, the team had to recover quickly, and what a recovery it was with superb shooting leading to a 9-0 victory! With comfortable wins against both St Gregory’s B and Costons B, Team B finished in second place and earned some very well-deserved silver medals!
