” Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10
We are an Active Travel School and we encourage all of our pupils and families to travel to school in an active, healthy way. We want to have a healthy school community and safe streets around our school and we want to work together to protect the environment and minimise pollution around our school sites.
At CtS we work alongside the borough travel team to promote healthy travel choices, and many of our initiatives for the academic year 2023/2024 are led by our Junior Travel Ambassadors. So far this year our JTAs have led assemblies on Road Safety, organised Road Safety competitions and run a ‘Be Bright, Be Seen’ non uniform day to remind us all about how to be safe as we travel to school in the dark.
Alongside our JTA intiatives our PSHE curriculum supports our active travel plans by teaching road safety, healthy active choices and ways to tackle environmental concerns.
We would like to see as many of our families as possible walking, cycling or scooting to school. We have racks for scooters and bikes at both sites where bicycles and scooters can be left securely during the school day.
For those who live a little further away from school, our school is well served by public transport, including the District and Central Line, Elizabeth Line and the overground train line that all come into Ealing Broadway station. In addition there are numerous bus routes that stop near our school sites.
For those parents who do need to use the car to bring their children to school we encourage families to ‘park and stride’. The map below identifies areas where parents can park for free within a 10 minute walk of the school. Parking and striding is a great way of getting some exercise into our day!

At our Grove Site we have a School Street in place, this is a low traffic zone that was introduced in 2021 thanks to the hard work of our staff, parents and pupils who wanted to create a safer environment outside the Grove site.
The School Street means that cars cannot drive down The Grove between 8:15am and 9:15am or between 2:45 and 3:45pm. This restrictions applies on Mondays to Fridays during term time according to the dates published on Ealing Council’s website. Our School Street begins at the junction of The Grove and Windsor Road where there are signs and a camera with an automatic plate recognition system in place (ANPR). Anyone who enters the School Street Pedestrian and Cycle Zone without a permit, within the operational times, will receive a penalty charge notice in the post, a £65 fine.
