DT Tremendous Textiles

It was fantastic to see how many pupils from reception to Year 6 took part in our DT textiles challenge over half term. It was inspiring to see the range of skills that pupils showed, from knitting and crocheting, to tie-dying, hand sewing, cross stitching and using a sewing machine. Pupils worked on an amazing array of creative projects including clothing, cushions,  puppets, toys and bracelets.

Many of the projects involved upcycling unwanted materials – such as the cushion created from a jumper and the lovely sock puppets below.

All the children who completed the project were celebrated in our Friday worship and received certificates. There is now a lovely display in the atrium at the Broadway site of all the wonderful DT projects. Thank you children for all your terrific textiles!
