21 Apr Big Walk and Wheel
Today in our Broadway celebration worship we shared the success of our Big Walk and Wheel week that took place at the end of last term.
We announced that pupils at the Broadway site made 1, 697 active journeys to school in the last week of term – a huge achievement – well done! It was fantastic to see so many pupils making the effort to walk, wheel or scoot to school and to hear pupils talking about parking and striding so that we can keep the streets around our school as safe and as traffic-free as possible.
Special congratulations go to 5FA who were the class that logged the most active journeys to school that week, we hope you enjoy your littele prizes! A big thank you to our JTAs who counted the active travel journeys every day.
We all feel proud of having part of something big – nearly 1 million children across the UK took part in the Big Walk and Wheel initiative; it has been exciting to know that so many young people across the country were involved in promoting healthy and active travel and working for a safer, pollution-free environment.
