New Play Ground Leaders

We are really pleased that our Year 6 playground leaders have begun their duties this week, supporting our Year 3 pupils in some of their afternoon breaks to engage in active and purposeful play.

Before half term, our team of Year 6 playground leaders completed two mornings of training with the Willow Tree Sports Partnership; they all received training in how to lead active play, how to resolve any potential conflicts and how to encourage reluctant participants. The Playleaders learned a variety of playground games to share with our younger pupils and also receievd lots of instructions from Ms Jolliffe on how to look after the play equipment they have have been provided with.

It has been a delight to watch the playleaders take up their responsibilities – seeing the smiling faces of the Year 3s as they all learned new games together this week has been a joy!
