13 Jul 160th Celebrations
We all had an absolutely wonderful day on Friday celebrating the 160th anniversary of our school. The children and staff came to school looking fantastic in their party clothes and enjoyed a day packed with fun activities, including decorating the classroom, a party lunch and party games, dancing in the playground, eating birthday cake and enjoying a prize raffle draw.
All the children also got the opportunity to visit the Galleries we had created on each site. These galleries displayed old photographs, log books and records from our school archives as well as the wonderful creative homeworks which the children completed over half term on the theme of our 160th anniversary.
In the week up to our celebration day the children learned more about the history of the school by reading and discussing in class our commemorative 160th picture book, ‘Up the Spiral Staircase’, which is an illustrated adventure into the history of our school. On Friday as a special gift, every family in the school was given their own copy to take home. Additional copies of this book are now available on Parent Pay if you, family or friends or other members of the extended CtS community would like to purchase an extra copy.
It was a truly memorable day – thank you to everyone who made it possible, from the PTA helpers, to our fantastic catering team and of course our wonderful teachers and children!
