On your Bike!

We are delighted that two of our Year 6 classes have had the opportunity to do cycle training in school with the Bikeability programme over the past two weeks.

Pupils have had five daily sessions that have taught them the basics of how to ride safely on the road and how to be safe in traffic. The first sessions in the course begin in the playground but then the pupils are taken out onto the road by the cycling instructors so they can experience first hand how to position themselves in traffic and how to signal and move safely.

We are very grateful for the expertise of the instructors who are teaching our children such a valuable skill, and also for the time the instructors give to checking over the pupils’ bicycles and making sure they are safe and roadworthy. We look forward to the other two Year 6 classes completing the course in the summer term.
