04 Jul Year 2 Farming Fun
Year 2’s school visit to Bockett’s Farm was an exciting adventure! The children travelled by coach to Bocketts Farm in Surrey, which was an hour away from our school. During the coach trip, Year 2 wondered about the animals they would see and what they would look like.
Once there, Year 2 had a wonderful experience meeting and handling the farm animals. The children petted a giant Himalayan Rex rabbit, a guinea pig, and a chicken and were taught how to handle them safely so as not to hurt them. The children also went on a thrilling tractor ride around Bocketts Farm, reaching the highest point of the farm. From there, they could see London on the skyline—it was a magical but bumpy ride, indeed!
With our tour guide, Year 2 explored the rest of the farm, where they learned more about the different types of animals that lived there. This helped them gain a deeper understanding of the life cycle of living things, which they have been learning about in science at school.
Before Year 2 departed for school, there was an adrenaline-pumping pig race that had everyone cheering and laughing.
The children thoroughly enjoyed their time at Bocketts Farm. If you have any questions about the trip, feel free to ask. Year 2 would love to tell you all about it!
