09 Oct Toys in the Past in Year 1
This term Year One children have thoroughly enjoyed learning about Toys in the Past, from wooden train sets and ragdolls to remote control cars and electronic devices. The children have loved learning about the toys in the past and the different material the toys were made out of. They were surprised to learn that some toys have been around for over 70 years.
To support this learning, parents and grandparents were invited to come and share with Year 1 pupils toys that they played with when they were younger. Children were delighted to welcome in a parent who generously gave up her time to come and share a range of toys. Children loved learning about them and were even able to have some time playing with them – the best day ever! Children were able to reflect on how these toys were different to the toys they play with now.
