Our School Orchestra

Last week, our school orchestra performed in our Friday celebration worship. Orchestra is made up of children from years 4-6 who have a grade 2 or above on their instrument. We meet every Wednesday morning and rehearse pieces from a variety of genres, from Beethoven’s 5th Symphony to the Doctor Who Soundtrack. In last week’s performance, we played Grieg’s ‘In The Hall of the Mountain King’, a well known and much loved piece full of atmosphere and interest. We introduced Years 3-6 to the different sections of the orchestra and each instrument taking part, the orchestra played with musicality and accuracy and Miss Reid was so proud of them.
