25 Mar Breaking Barriers with Bart
This term, Year 3 & 4 welcomed Bart Gee, a motivational speaker and author, to school.
Bart shared his experiences of living with a physical disability, encouraging pupils to reflect on their own learning and the barriers they may encounter. He spoke about the importance of resilience, determination and maintaining a positive mindset when faced with challenges.
During the workshop, pupils took part in a range of activities that encouraged them to persevere, think differently and approach challenges with confidence.
It was an inspiring and motivating visit that left a lasting impression on the children and helped us think more deeply about what it means to be an inclusive school.
Leo 4IR – ‘I really liked the visit because it is amazing that he can do so many things like swimming really far despite his disability. It is amazing how he can write so neatly. We can learn from Bart that if you have a disability you can still do anything you want to.’
Yann 4CA – ‘Bart Gee was really inspiring. He showed me that I can do anything, just like he can do anything. I’m going to try not to give up when I find things tough.’
Zaahir 4CA – ‘The workshop inspired me a lot. It made me realise that if you have a disability, or if you can’t do certain things, you should never let it get in the way of achieving your goals.’
