Welcome to Year Two

Year 2 can enter school through either gate between 8:35am and 8:50am. The gates closes at 8:50am to enable registration to take place promptly; lessons begin at 8:55am. Dismissal for Year 2 is from the back playground.

A summary of the key timings for Year 2 are below:

  • Drop off through either gate: 8:35-8:50am
  • Year 2 lunchtime: 12:30-1:30pm
  • Pick up at Grove back gate: 3:20pm

Home Learning

Pupils should complete daily reading, recording what they have read in their red reading diaries. Red reading diaries and reading books should be brought into school every day.

Maths homework is set weekly on LbQ, it is set on a Friday and should be completed by Friday each week.

If your child is on the Read, Write Inc scheme, they should continue using their Phonics Google Classroom to practise their spelling words.

P.E Days

Pupils should come to school in their PE kits on their allocated PE days. For details of the required school PE kit please go to our Uniform Page. Please be reminded that hoodies are not part of our school PE kit and must not be worn to school at any time. PE footwear must be black (please refer to the school Shoe Guide on the Uniform Page).

  • PE days for 2SD are Mondays and Thursdays.
  • PE days for 2AB are Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • PE days for 2RS are Wednesdays and Thursdays.
  • PE days for 2NZ are Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
