27 Mar Reception’s Big World: International Day
Our Reception classes went on a global adventure for International Day!
The day kicked off with a spectacular parade, where everyone proudly showed off traditional dress and national colors. Our teachers gave a special presentation about their home countries, helping the children learn about a variety of cultures, languages, and customs from around the world. Mrs Kernohan played traditional Irish music on the violin and taught the children Irish dancing.
We were delighted to welcome parents who shared insights into their cultures and countries. Their contributions helped to deepen the children’s understanding and made the day even more meaningful.
Children took part in lots of different activities, they crafted national flags and listened to traditional music from around the world. One of the highlights of the day was the delicious food tasting experience. The children had the chance to try a range of new flavours, including Indian chapati and poppadoms, as well as a selection of tropical fruits. It was wonderful to see everyone being so adventurous and enthusiastic about trying new foods.
Overall, International Day was a vibrant celebration of diversity, bringing our school community together through learning, music, food, and shared experiences!
