18 May Reception Maths Stay and Play
We were delighted to welcome our Reception families to our recent Maths Stay and Play session. It was a wonderful opportunity for parents and carers to join their children in a range of fun and engaging activities, both indoors and outdoors.
During the session, we used learning through play to explore a variety of important mathematical concepts. The children enjoyed activities focused on addition, subtraction, doubling, halving, sequencing, counting, number recognition, and identifying 2D and 3D shapes. From hands-on games inside the classroom to active challenges in the outdoor area, there was something to inspire every learner.
It was fantastic to see the children so enthusiastic and confident as they demonstrated their understanding, and equally lovely to see families getting involved and sharing in their learning experiences.
We hope that parents and carers enjoyed the session and found it helpful in providing ideas for how to support the learning of these mathematical concepts through play at home. Thank you to everyone who attended and made the session such a success!
