A Whole New World!

The Year 6 pupils have just started rehearsals for this year’s summer production – Aladdin! They are having a lot of fun learning iconic songs such as ‘Friend Like Me’ and ‘Arabian Nights’. Based on the 1992 animated movie, Aladdin the musical tells the traditional Arabic folktale ‘Aladdin’ from One Thousand and One Nights. The story follows Aladdin, who discovers a magic lamp containing a genie – with his help, he disguises himself as a wealthy prince and tries to impress the Sultan of Agrabah and win the heart of Princess Jasmine.

The pupils have been wowed by the upbeat musical numbers and were thrilled with the choice of musical – at the end of the film, everyone applauded! The pupils have brought all their energy and enthusiasm to the rehearsal room each day and are eager to show off their vocal skills!

The production will take place in the last week of term (Monday 13th – Thursday 16th July) and the exact date for each class show will be announced after the half term break. We look forward to welcoming you to the exciting productions!
