28 Nov Celebrating Christ the King
On Sunday evening we had our annual Christ the King service in the church at 5:30pm. It was a wonderful occassion to mark the last Sunday of the church calendar year, when we celebrate the kingship of Jesus.
The church was packed with children and their families, including our Year 4,5, and 6 choirs, the school servers and our worship leaders. The service began with a procession around the church and the joyful singing of ‘Give me Joy in my heart.’ During the service our worship leaders read the prayers which they had written themselves, inspired by the themes of our school vision. Our choirs both led the congregational singing and each sang their own hymn. The service ended with a lovely rendition of our school hymn, ‘Christ Triumphant’ and our worship leaders let off confetti canons to celebrate that Jesus is the risen King! Thank you to everyone who came to make the service such a special time for our community.
