13 Jun Reception Celebrate World Environment Day
Last week, Reception celebrated World Environment Day. This year’s theme was “Pollution in Our Oceans”, helping children learn about the importance of keeping our seas and waterways clean and protecting the animals that live there.
To explore this important topic, we read a variety of children’s story books that focused on caring for the environment and reducing pollution. The stories encouraged thoughtful discussions about how our actions can help protect the world around us.
The children also took part in exciting science experiments and water play activities to explore the effects of water pollution on animals. Through hands-on learning, they saved sea creatures from pollution and discussed ways we can help keep water clean.
As part of our learning, the children enjoyed a special Show and Tell session where they shared the different ways they help the environment both at home and at school. We heard about recycling, saving water, turning off lights, reusing materials, and looking after nature.
We are very proud of the enthusiasm and understanding the children showed. By learning about pollution in our oceans, they are developing important habits that will help them become responsible, caring and educated global citizens.
