Year 2 Dive Into English Learning!

This week, Year 2 rolled up their sleeves and dove headfirst into the world of Ronda and David Armitage’s beloved classic, The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch. To help inspire their upcoming English unit on setting descriptions, the children spent a creative morning bringing Mr. Grinling’s coastal world off the page and into the classroom using a variety of rich textures and mediums.

Next week, the children will use their completed artwork as a visual scaffold to write descriptive settings. With their vibrant scenes in front of them, they are well-equipped to write vivid sentences that capture the sights, textures, and moods of the lighthouse coast.
