Welcome to Year Six
We look forward to welcoming Year 6 to school for the Autumn Term on Wednesday, 4th September. Year 6 enter school through the Broadway site main gate between 8:30am and 8:40am. The main gate closes at 8:40am to enable registration to take place promptly; lessons begin at 8:45am.
A summary of the key timings for Year 6 are below:
- Drop off at Broadway Site main gate: 8:30-8:40am
- Year 6 lunchtime: 12:45-1:30pm
- Pick up at Broadway Site main gate: 3:10pm
Please note that Red Cards, which give permission for Year 6s to leave school independently at 3:10pm, will not be issued during the first few weeks of term until clear expectations and routines have been established.
Mobile Phones: Pupils in Year 6 who has been issued with a Red Card and have permission to travel home alone are permitted to carry a simple, non-expensive mobile phone to school. The phone should have no internet access or camera facility (for example a Nokia 105), it should be clearly marked with the pupil’s name, the phone should be switched off before they enter school and placed in their school bag, the phone should never be taken out during the school day (there are no exceptions to this, pupils are always allowed to phone home during the day using the school landline if they need to speak to a parent.) A simple mobile phone remains the responsibility of the student at all times and the school will not take action if it is lost. Failure to comply with the guidelines, e.g. bringing in phones with internet access or using a phone during the school day, will result in staff following sanctions as detailed in our behaviour policy.
Year 6 KS2 SATs are due to take place during the week beginning Monday May 12th 2025.
