24 Nov Recycling our Old Pens
When our School Council representatives met together this week they were amazed to see just how many used pens we have collected in our classrooms so far this term!
Two of our school council reps then took on the reponsibility of taking the pens to Rymans where there is a collection point for recycling used pens.
It was fantastic to see the huge contribution we were able to make to Ryman’s recycling bin; Rymans have recycled over a million pens across the whole country. Isn’t that amazing? The plastic from our old pens will be melted down and used in new plastic products. Who knows what our old pens will be made into? Milk bottles? Plastic bags? Garden furniture? Or will they restart life as a pen again?
Thank you to all of you who remember not to throw your used pens in the bin and thank you to our school council reps for getting the pens to the recycling collection point.
