30 Nov Super Science Books
Today, pupils from Years 5 and 6 had their first judging panel meeting for the Royal Society Young Person’s Book Prize. This is a nationl initiative which is designed to encourage children to read, engage and review shortlisted books with a science theme.
The pupils on the panel will read, review and rate their specific book based on a set of given criteria:
- Interest
- Look and Feel
- How inspirational
- Ease of Reading
In the New Year our results will be sent back to the Royal Society and in March the winning book and author will be announced to the nation. The winning book will appear in bookshops up and down the country with a sticker proclaiming that it has won!
Our judges are looking forward to reading the fantastic books which have been sent to the school for judging and are excited about having their views about the books heard.
