Year 6 Play Leaders

We are delighted that twenty of our Year 6 pupils have completed their Playground Leadership training with the Willow Tree School Sports Partnership. Our Playground Leaders  have been rewarded with their certificates and badges and are now putting their skills into action by supporting our Year 3 children in their afternoon play times.

In their playground leader training the Year 6s learned how to teach a wide range of playground games, including Rats and Rabbits, Tadpoles, Oddball, Time Bomb and Earth ball. The Year 6 pupils were also given skills to support conflict resolution in the playground and taught how to follow simple steps to make sure that everyone feels included and has an opportunity to participate.

It is wonderful to see our Year 6 pupils developing their leadership skills and to see the Year 3s having fun and enjoying new games in the playground together.
