03 Nov Road Safety
This week our school Junior Travel Ambassadors have been giving assemblies at the Broadway and the Grove sites to remind us all how to travel to school safely. The JTAs taught us the four simple rules to keep us safe as we walk to school and cross the roads:
- Stop
- Look
- Listen
- Think
They reminded us that STOP means not just to stop at the edge of the pavement, but it also means to stop looking at your mobile phone and to stop talking and playing with your friends so you can cross the road safely.
Our JTAs also spoke to the children about how we need to Be Safe and Be Seen, particularly now that it is darker in the mornings and the evenings. The PTA are generously supporting the promotion of Road Safety by providing every child in the school with a fluorescent ‘Be bright, be seen’ key ring which they can attach to their school bag to help them be more visible as they walk to and from school.
Thank you JTAs for helping us to learn how we can be safe as we travel to and from school!
