DT Christmas Stockings

This half term, Year 6 have been working hard in DT, making our own Christmas stockings . Firstly, we looked at examples of Christmas stockings and discussed the materials used: “I think the green and red fabric is good because Santa’s elves’ boots are those colours.”

Next, was the designing stage where we finally chose the favourite design from three we had created. The final stage was the fun bit, sourcing the fabric and using different stitches – even embroidering- to create the final stocking.

“My favourite bit was actually learning how to sew because I’ve never done it before.”

Year 6 were very lucky to have some parent volunteers to come and help complete their stockings on time and the results are just fantastic. Thank you parents for your time and expertise!
