Gold for Girls’ Football Team!

On Friday, ten Year 5 and Year 6 girls travelled to Gunnersbury Park to participate in the Ealing Advanced Girls Football Competition.

There were nine schools taking part, and after a cold start, the weather was fantastic for playing football. Each group game was twenty minutes long, so plenty of football was played.

The CtS girls were placed in a group of five teams, and successfully managed to win all four group games, scoring lots of goals and keeping four clean sheets too!

Having won their group, it was into the semi finals where the girls produced another strong performance, winning 3-0.

In the final, the girls conceded a goal early on for the first time all day. However, they  showed great resilience to fight back and they won the game 2-1. The girls were deserved winners and enjoyed the celebrations with their gold medals! Congratulations to all involved – we are super proud of you girls!
