22 Oct Hockey Tournament
On Friday, a group of Year 5 and 6 children took part in a hockey competiton held at St Augustine’s School. The schools participating were divided into two pools. Our pool comprised 4 schools and our first match was against St Augustine’s themselves, The children adapted quickly to the astroturf surface, the wooden sticks and heavier ball and they gelled quickly as a team to win 2-0.
After a quick rest and a drink, they were back on to play against Costons School who played well with a number of skilful players. CtS won the match 4-1.
In the final pool match, CtS were up against St Gregory’s School. Despite a determined battle, the team were unlucky to lose 2-0.
Ms Jolliffe was proud of the whole squad – they were a credit to the school, with exemplary behaviour, fantastic teamwork, great skills and with grit and determination throughout.
