13 Mar Lent Charity: Ealing Soup Kitchen
During Lent, we have been exploring this verse from Micah, Chapter 6 vs 8:
He has shown you O man what is good and what does the Lord require of you? To act justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
With our focus on justice, we know the importance of everybody having access to food, which is right and fair for everyone. This year, our whole school charitable partnership is with Ealing Soup Kitchen which is a local charity that seeks to help anyone who needs hot, nutritious food and a helping hand. They have been running their Soup Kitchen since 1973 at St John’s Church in Ealing for the homeless, vulnerable and impoverished.
The Soup Kitchen provides an essential service in our local community. As well as giving free hot meals to anyone who needs them, Ealing Soup Kitchen provides so much more, including a clothes bank, food parcels, access to a barber, practical help and social games.
We will be collecting items until Monday 23rd March, when we will be dropping off our donations at Ealing Soup Kitchen.
