29 Apr Making Digital Music
Year 4 recently took part in an exciting computing unit where they became music producers for the day. Using BandLab, the children learned how to create their own original pieces by combining layers, beats and samples.
Working from a plan, each pupil composed a piece of music designed to reflect a journey through four different emotions. Along the way, they developed key skills such as using virtual instruments, programming drum beats and incorporating samples into their tracks. They also explored how layering sounds can add depth and texture, helping to bring their musical ideas to life.
The unit was thoroughly enjoyed by all, and the children were incredibly proud of their final compositions. The project concluded with a sharing session, where pupils performed their music to their classmates and celebrated their achievements together.
You can listen to some of their fantastic creations below.
