07 Jul 5AC and 5JN Residential
What an amazing time Year 5 have been having this week! 5AC and 5JN journeyed up to Croft Farm, near Tewkesbury, on Monday to start their three day adventure. The children have shown such enthusiasm, team work and resilience as they have faced new challenges, learned new skills and coped with the very warm weather. Year 5 have been facing their fear of heights on the climbing and abseiling tower, improving their map reading skills in orienteering and developing their co-ordination and steady hands in archery.
On the water it has been glorious and the children have had their team work tested with raft building and water sports challenges. It takes a lot of listening and good communication to all paddle together so that your canoe or raft goes in the right direction! The children have impressed all their teachers with their determination, resilience and water confidence.
Back at the cabins, Year 5 are showing their independence with some of the best organised and tidiest rooms that we have ever seen on a residential trip – it will be a fierce battle to see who wins the room inspection competition! We look forward to sharing all our stories with you when we return to school on Wednesday afternoon.
