Diwali Dancing Workshop

Last week, as part of of ‘Festivals and Celebrations’ topic, Reception took part in a Diwali dance workshop. Led by ‘West End in schools’, the workshop allowed the children to explore the story behind the festival of Diwali. After listening to the story being read out, they all learnt a dance routine which retold the story of how Rama had to rescue Sita, when she was taken by the evil ten-headed demon, Ravana. The children then enjoyed pairing these newly learned dance moves along with traditional Indian music.
